چکیده
Coriaria nepalensis , a nitrogen-fixing actinorhizal shrub, is prominent and successful colonizer of bare rocks landslide affected degraded lands. Field experiments were conducted to determine the differences in biomass decomposition nutrient release pattern different plant parts C. using litter bag technique. Results showed that leaves decomposed completely within 6 months while only 46.55% lateral roots with slowest rate 0.14% day –1 . The was order: Leaves > Reproductive Twigs (< 5 mm) (> Bark Fine Lateral roots. decay coefficient highest (0.003–0.014) for lowest (0.001–0.002) During cycle (364 days), overall increase reported nitrogen phosphorus concentration, potassium concentration decreased continuously residual litters. mobility K P N. Climatic factors like temperature, relative humidity rainfall significantly process among these factors, emerged as most effective environmental driver. Thus, taking into account initial content, rates, reproductive proved be more important source than other components.

Natural radioactivity in rock samples of Aravali hills in India
Background: Natural radionuclides in rock samples, primarily 238U (uranium), 232Th (thorium) and 40K (potassium), are the main source of radiation exposure to workers and general public and their measurement is of paramount importance from radiation protection point of view. Materials and Methods: Gamma spectrometry using HPGe detector was used to measure the radioactivity and assess the radiol...
متن کاملAn ordination of the forest communities in Nainital catchment of Kumaun Himalaya.
Evergreen forest communities distributed within 1580-2600 m above sea level (asl) in Kumaun Himalaya were studied. Quercus leucotrichophora A. Campus, Q. floribunda Lindl. ex Rehder Q. semecarpifolia J.E. Smith and Pinus roxburghii Sarg. are the dominant tree species in banj-oak, tilonj-oak, kharsu-oak and chir-pine forests, respectively. Total density for tree, shrub and herb layer varied from...
متن کاملPicrotoxane Sesquiterpene Glycosides and a Coumarin Derivative from Coriaria nepalensis and Their Neurotrophic Activity.
Two picrotoxane sesquiterpene lactone glycosides, nepalactones A (1) and B (2), and one new coumarin, nepalarin (3), were isolated from the root barks of the poisonous plant Coriarianepalensis. Their structures were elucidated via HRESIMS and 1D and 2D NMR spectroscopic analyses, and further verified via transformation methods. In addition, compounds 1-3 and five semisynthetic congeners (1a-e) ...
متن کاملGrowth and production of aquatic hyphomycetes in decomposing leaf litter
The acetate-to-ergosterol technique was used to estimate fungal productivity of three species of aquatic hyphomycetes growing in decomposing ash leaves in stream microcosms. Following a lag of 20-88 min, incorporation of acetate into ergosterol was linear for at least 10 h. Substrate saturation was reached in the mM range, and there was no indication of isotope dilution. For one species, Articu...
